Creating “wow” moments can be increasingly difficult for well travelled guests who have seen it and done it.
However it is still possible, you just need to put yourself in their shoes. Let me explain…
Last night (Sunday) I ran sales through service course for a fantastic restaurant and bar called The Winery in Burton. It started at 6pm and I did not get away until after 9pm. I then had a 3 hour drive to Stoke Park Hotel where I would be delivering a training session the following day.
On pulling up at 11.30 and driving into the car park I was pleasantly surprised to see a porter walking round to meet me. He greeted me by name, yes I know it was pretty obvious not many guests arrive so late ! take my case and ask how my journey was. Gavin the night manager again greeted me by name and checked me in really quickly. All of which you would expect from a five star hotel like Stoke Park, yet so many hotels do not bother!
However when I walked into my room the roaring coal fire, glass of wine waiting for me and beautiful room made me feel immediately at home.
This was just what I needed after a long drive and exhausting day. I have often checked into hotels with beautiful fire places in the bedroom that have never been lit but not in this case I am pleased to say.
Creating wow moments….. it’s easy make the guest feel pampered and right at home.
Thank you Stoke Park I cannot wait to return and bring my family.
